We are very happy with this unit. It really does a great job of keeping your teeth clean. It has three pressure settings low, medium and high. Medium is all you need as high is too much pressure. We only have to charge it about once a week with two of us using it. Good value for the money.

Easy to use. Two settings. Even the low settings is powerful. Gums feel cleaner than using floss. Multiple accessories and travel bag. Long lasting battery. Good quality.

I really like that this is cordless, I can keep it right next to my toothbrush and it is so easy to use. It’s also easy to fill. I prefer the low setting and it does a great job cleaning between my teeth better than a toothbrush or floss alone. It comes with a few choices of the style of the tip which is good for personal preference. I was worried about water spraying all over, but it’s easy to press on and off and I keep my head facing the bowl to minimize splash. I would recommend.

  4. John Coneff

I like this water pick. It doesn’t take up much counter space, and the water pressure is quite strong. It is easy to use, and there are a variety of heads. I also like that it is cordless.

I purchased this on-line, and sadly saw the same brand (slightly different model) that was:
    * Lower cost
    * Included both the portable, and the one that sits on the countertop.
If I had to do it over, I would have gone that route.

I probably also would have gotten one with replaceable batteries.

According to the directions the batteries should last about a month. I generally go 2 weeks, and then have to recharge. I also do (3) fills every morning, which could explain the discrepancy in expectations. I have very tight teeth (I should have had braces, and probably a couple of teeth removed). Both my sons had braces when they were young, and that worked out well for them. I’m 60+ and not interested in that.

The charging mechanism is both unique, and quirky. The charger is magnetically attracted to a specific spot on the front of the water pick. Put it on the “wrong” way, and it repels.

The instructions indicate that after use, the water well should be emptied. To accommodate this, there’s a lock on the bottom. Pull the lock, struggle, and finally it comes off. I’ve been using this for about a month, and it’s no easier to remove the water well than when I started. I’d hoped there was a break in period. You *could* just open the door, and drain it that way. I’m stickler for following the expected methods, so I pull the bottom off.

Instructions say that you should hold the pick perpendicular to your teeth. You can do that sort of top and bottom. It comes with several picks (and a travel pick that’s really a plug so it doesn’t leak), with different angles. Not one that has a 90 degree angle, which would have been nice. I’m considering using my heat gun to turn one into 90 degrees, see how that works out.

I have a small mouth, and when I use this I run the top & bottom. Followed by doing the inside as well on the top only. If I were to try the bottom, well, gravity kicks in, and that doesn’t work so well.

I should mention I use this in the shower, because otherwise this might just drench your mirror or light fixture (which happened when my granddaughter decided to experiment). She wanted to know, “Does it hurt?” I thought about that. If I eat a lot of candy, sometimes my gums get a little tender. Then, yes, it does hurt. But the majority of the time no, it doesn’t hurt.

There are (3) levels available. I always use it on high. I wish it did have a mode that would hurt so I could turn it down. High is the best I can do.

I had to replace the waterpik I had because it was not made well at all. This waterpik is made very well, the three settings cover the right amount of pressure needed and works great. It is very easy to use and maintain. Also, due to the slim design, it fits in the corner of my sink so it’s never in the way.

Big fan of Waterpik but was fed up with them burning up overseas with converter. Had great WP
customer service and was informed they made a unit for global travel, who knew. Used recently pleased but I will let you know nothing works like the larger devices bet better this then nothing.

I purchased this advanced cordless model for two reasons:

    1. I didn’t want a big bulky unit with tubes and wires cluttering my bathroom
    2. Needed a waterpik that could be used while travelling

This is a truly fantastic product which ultimately sorted out my gum disease and prevented major gum surgery.
My periodontist was so amazed when I saw him and did a double take when he read in the file that I had last seen him 6 months previously!
He hardly had any work to do

I have been using this since the beginning of October 2017

The first time I used it, it alternated between tickling my gums and feeling like there were needles attacking my mouth!
I couldn’t finish my whole mouth due to this and my gums were bleeding in a few places
I was unprepared for the PULSING water as I assumed it was just a steady stream of water

One needs to persevere, as your mouth needs to get used to the waterpik sensations.

It took about a week to get used to it and during this time my gums still bled.
Over time, the bleeding got less and less and eventually stopped altogether as did my swollen gums

    First Impressions

It was bit bulkier than it looks in the pictures

I had to start on the LOW setting as the water pressure is quite strong
After a month, I have moved to MEDIUM and am now on HIGH
Some reviews have mentioned that they feel that the pressure is not strong enough, but it seems that the measure is compared to the plug in model which is understandably more powerful

Having said that, I don’t think that I personally could handle more pressure as on occasion, if one points the nozzle incorrectly on the gums, it still can feel like needles on the gums but this is very rare (The pressure of this portable model is approximately 75psi)

The little flap where you fill the reservoir doesn’t seem to be too tight when you first use it, but it works like a charm and water doesn’t leak out

The buttons are well positioned and one doesn’t push them by mistake

At first, it was quite difficult to do the inside of my teeth, until I realised that the nozzle swivels, which made all the difference

In terms of travelling, it is supplied with a grey plastic “blocker” which is inserted in place of the nozzle.
This prevents residual water from leaking out
It is quite difficult to empty ALL the water out of it, so when travelling, ensure that it is put in a Ziploc bag as there will be a small amount of water that will leak out

I use dental floss before using the waterpik.
There is no special reason for this, other than I am used to using dental floss anyway and feel that this assists in removing plaque from the sides of the teeth

The reservoir holds a fair amount of water (I suppose that there has to be a balance between size and capacity)
I fill up between 3 or 4 times during a session which is very easy to do

Although there are third party generic hard cases available, it would be nice if Waterpik had a custom hard case as an option which would be larger at one end and narrower at the other end so as not to cause unnecessary bulk in your suitcase.

A hard case is a necessity as otherwise the buttons will be pressed and the likelihood of the unit being cracked or broken when you take it out of your suitcase is quite high

    PROS

    Portable
    Efficient
Wireless charging (more on that below)
    Does a fantastic job
    3 pressure levels
    Ergonomic fit to your hand

    CONS

    No proper hard case
    Unintelligent battery – big issue
Unable to empty it completely so a small amount of water leaks out when travelling

    BIG FLAW!!!!

The reason for only four stars is that the battery is very old technology in that if you charge it for more than four hours, the battery overcharges and will no longer hold a charge which renders the Waterpik useless

One would expect that with the technology available today, the battery shouldn’t be a problem, but it is
It is mentioned in the user manual, but it is not highlighted and the consequences are not explained
Waterpik really need to address this issue as it has the potential to damage their reputation
It is worth paying a few dollars extra not to have this issue

To charge the unit, place the magnetic charger on the body near the bottom (the charger is magnetised and will automatically attach to the correct spot) and it starts charging, BUT you have to remember to remove the charger as soon as its charged (about four hours), which is not convenient at all

    CONCLUSION
Despite the battery/charging issue, I think that this is a fantastic product but would ONLY recommend it if you are willing to put up with and manage the charging of it

It would really be nice if Waterpik would comment and clarify the issue

At first I thought it was too large but after using this twice a day I’ve come to really appreciate the results. Just need to keep it inside one’s mouth and your finger on the power button. Mouth is so clean and really helps in preventing canker sores which I use to experience more often. Won’t give it up now!
