It’s been my favorite gel

I read a bunch of reviews praising this gel so decided to try it. My hair had been performing a bit weird lately so I branched out to try a few different products. I will say the gel is very thick and has very low slip to it. It does not glide through hair or really soak in. You have to be prepared to work it into the hair and very thoroughly. It does not contain much in the way of moisturizing properties, evidenced in the way my hair looked after it dried. There really wasn’t a cast left on it but this could be because I didn’t put a ton on my hair. My curls looked pretty soft but subsequently had little hold and tended towards poofy as a result. Once again, maybe I would need to apply a lot more to avoid this but didn’t want to over do it on the first application. Ultimately I used this gel a handful of times and just had ok results. I much prefer Deva Curl Ultra Defining gel after experimenting with this one but would encourage folks to give it a try to make sure. For reference, my hair is 3b with some 3c in the low crown and back, high porosity and medium thickness.

I heard about this on IG. Took me a few tries to get it to work for me. It’s a semi hard hold. When it dries and I scrunch out the hard hold, my curls are fluffy weightless and beautiful! This gel is super duper thick! I spread it thin on both hands and run a bit of water on them to thin it out 1st. I have to do this because my curly hair is not very thick. End results are beautiful. I find myself using this daily now!! Once you learn to work with it, it’s perfect.
