Reviewing: ZERAFITE Soothing and Calming Face Moisturizer for Dry & Sensitive Skin Types:

This is a small jar of moisturizer that comes in a box, with a seal across the top.

The ingredients are listed on the packaging, as follows: Water/Aqua, Clycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, PET-15 Glyceryl Stearate, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Squalane, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Cocoglycerides, Myristoyl/Palmitoyl-Oxostearamide/Arachamide MEA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Niacinamide, Dimethicone, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Cholestorol, Methylparaben, Carbomer, Sodium Lactate, Propylparaben, Allantoin, 1.2-Hexanediol, BHT, Fragrance, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Ubiquinone, Glyceryl Caprylate.

I try to steer clear of skincare products that contain parabens and BHT. Websites will confirm that these products have a preservative use, and guard against mold and bacterial growth, and that they are safe to use on the skin “in small quantities”. I hope/trust that only small quantities are involved in this product, although I still react with caution when I see them in a list of ingredients for skincare products.

Having read the ingredients list, I really didn’t want to like this product, but I have to admit that I do. It goes on smoothly, has hardly any fragrance at all, and makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated. I have sensitive skin, and this cream hasn’t caused any irritation at all. It’s a fairly thick cream; not as lightweight as some, but it really does feel as if it helps to stop my skin feeling dry. If the $50 price tag puts you off, it could be used just as a night cream before bed, and not necessarily more than once a day. As a product for more mature skin that might need a bit of extra hydration, I’d recommend this.

My daughter has sensitive, reactive, dry skin. This moisturizer has worked very well for her. Her skin is well hydrated and she hasn’t had any adverse reactions. It is a bit on the pricey side though. She has had other moisturizers work this well for her at a lower cost. I’m taking off a star because of cost, but otherwise this does exactly what it claims.

Helps me to rehidrate my dry skin. I’m happy with the results

I am always careful about beauty products because I will break out in a rash if I’m not careful. This looked like a pretty safe bet from the ingredient list for my sensitive skin. I’ve used it both morning and night for awhile and haven’t had any adverse skin reactions. What I really like about this moisturizer is that it really leaves my skin feeling so soft all day long. The cream is a bit thick, sort of like the expensive creams you would find at an upscale department store. It rubs into my skin very evenly and a little is all you need. It has a very light fragrance that is pleasant smelling. Overall, this product does a good job and it really seems to work well for my sensitive skin.

This is in the form of a solid cream, less easily spilled, which easily softens when you rub between your fingers for a bit. No scent. There will be a residue on the skin for a bit but then it disappears. Nice.

Edit: I am amending my review to 5 stars because I have used this product several more times and I like it even more. When I tell you my skin is sensitive, I can just look at a spicy meal and flush. I can break out in hives for no reason at all. The chances that I will have a rash somewhere on any given day are higher than not having one. You get the idea. So when I can say that something doesn’t bother me and actually improves my skin, its big deal. This cream layers well under sunscreen and makeup. My skin soaks it up quickly, but it keeps it hydrated for hours which I can’t say about most moisturizers. It leaves a slightly dewy finish which I prefer, especially in the mornings because I am on the dry side and like a radiant or dewy glow when I walk out the door. I really appreciate the Niacinamide and Hylauronic Acid and hope to keep seeing improvement in my skin. Hope this helps!

    Original:
I have very sensitive, itchy prone eczema skin and the winter time is particularly hard on it. Rough itchy patches are always popping up when I least expect them to. I like this moisturizer, it is soothing and comforting to dry skin and it absorbed quickly. It’s a nice thickness, but not too thick, and easy to rub in. I like the high quality ingredients as well. The only con is that the smell is a bit medicinal – a little like vapor rub but lighter and far less fragrant. The smell fades quickly so overall I like this product.

During the winter months, my hands get extremely dry and crack easily. Over-the-counter lotions don’t help much so I’ve come to rely on urea-based creams. While they work much better, they come with their own challenges of smelling weird and not feeling very nice during and after application. This cream addresses one of these two issues. It’s not quite as outright effective as urea, especially over a longer term, but it’s far lighter and easier to apply. Because it doesn’t feel greasy, I’ve also found it to also be an effective aftershave balm. The major problem I have, though, is that this cream doesn’t smell particularly good. The aroma is almost chemical in nature, and I can smell it on my hands for quite a while after I use it. That’s a borderline deal-breaker as far as I’m concerned, especially since urea creams are usually a lot less expensive.

Cream texture, not greasy and easy to absorb. Good moisturizing effect, worth having.
